How to check your benefits
At Headlight we want to make billing as simple and clear as possible, so you always know what to expect. Prior to your first appt, we verify eligibility and benefits. Deductible, coinsurance and co-payment amounts are obtained and calculated at this time; we try to do the best we can with the information you provide although these amounts are not a guarantee of coverage, benefits, or payment.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept insurance for therapy sessions?
Yes, Headlight accepts insurance for mental health care and therapy services. We’re in-network with most major insurers and also facilitate an easy reimbursement process for out-of-network members, making therapy more affordable than ever.
Where to find statements and receipts?
The client may contact the Billing Team directly via phone at (310) 857-2263 or by email at Billing@headlight.health and request a statement and/or receipts. If a balance is due on the account, the client will receive a monthly statement by mail.
Will my insurance cover my Spravato ® sessions?
Yes, Spravato ® sessions are covered by most major insurance companies.
How does Headlight bill clients?
We always collect client credit card information before confirming your first appointment. We handle the collection of client obligations (e.g., copays, coinsurance, and deductibles) by charging the card on file.
- Copay / coinsurance: this typically occurs shortly after a visit is completed (after your provider completes their clinical notes). Typically, the amount charged is what is outlined in your benefits estimate obtained from your insurer.
- Deductible: This after your claim has been adjudicated by your insurer (3-4 weeks after your visit). While your responsibilities are estimated in our verification process; they are truly assessed post claim adjudication thus will be charged as a follow-up until your deductible is met.
- Multiple charges: Sometimes, you may notice multiple credit card charges for a single visit. This typically happens when an upfront copay is assessed and charged close to the time of the visit, followed by additional charges applied to your deductible after your insurance claim has been processed.
- No-show / late cancellation charge: this typically occurs shortly after a no-show or late cancellation occurs (usually within 72 hours)
- Declined payment: If the credit card on file declines, the billing team will notify the client by SMS, phone, and/or email. We will then send a paper statement and reach out to you to set up a new payment method or plan.
Why does Headlight need a credit card on file?
At Headlight, our primary goal is to provide seamless and efficient healthcare services to our clients. To help us achieve this, we require patients to keep a credit card on file. This practice ensures that we can efficiently manage billing for patient responsibilities and other associated costs.
Credit card information is stored securely and protected by encryption, in compliance with industry standards (PCI).
Does Headlight offer payment plans?
Yes, Headlight offers flexible payment plans. For balances of $1,000 or more, a 6-month plan is available. For balances under $1,000, a 3-month plan can be arranged. To set up a payment plan, please contact our billing team at (310) 857-2263 or Billing@headlight.health.
How will the charge appear on my credit card?
