How's it going?

We are all shaped by our life experiences, our social connections, and our individual personality traits. No one is the same, therefore as a therapist I cannot go in to a session with any agenda beyond eagerness to learn through curiosity and empathy. My Clients are the experts in their own life. My goal is for my clients to live rich, full and meaningful lives, and only my clients can decide what that means for them.

I believe that in every person is a wealth of strength and resilience to be utilized in therapy. Within every client is the ability to find solutions to difficulties and the capability to overcome challenges. It is my job to help clients identify and build upon their strengths to enable them to make positive change in their own lives.

I strive to create a safe space for clients to be emotionally vulnerable to facilitate change and personal growth. The creation of that safe space is dependent on a strong therapeutic relationship. As a therapist I use empathy, genuineness, humor, vulnerability and openness to foster the trust that is imperative to the creation of a strong therapeutic bond. It is important to remember that therapy is usually hard and change is scary. I wholeheartedly believe that a trusting relationship between therapist and client is the first step towards easing those fears.

Vulnerability is the birthplace of love, belonging, joy, courage, empathy, and creativity. It is the source of hope, empathy, accountability, and authenticity. If we want greater clarity in our purpose or deeper and more meaningful lives, vulnerability is the path.
